Apparently I haven’t blogged about, and therefore not really done anything about, the πiFi Music Player for over a year. I’m changing that right now.
Oh yeah, this year I also read ”House of X”/”Powers of X”. Thanks The Incomparable.
I still have a hard time to reconcile the fact that reading fiction, that was such a large part of my identity as a child and a teen, is something that I do so rarely these days. Part of that is how slowly I get through even books I really love from authors that are among my favourites.
Case in point, William Gibson and his ”Blue Ant Trilogy”. According to my Reading page I read Pattern Recognition in 2013 and now, in august 2020, I finished Zero History. I really like Gibson and this trilogy has been a blast but still it’s taking my seven years to get through.
I wonder how much time I’ve spent browsing timelines and listening to people going on and on about the same things in podcasts during those same seven years.
That being said, this year might be a bit different. As I said, I’ve just finished Pattern Recognition but I’m also half-way through a bunch of books, some audio books some paper/Kindle books. I occasionally actually manages to convince myself to read a bit for pure pleasure. That makes me happy.

Instagram. Really bad.
I agree with . I think this golden age of television that we are in is only helped by killing shows before they lose what makes them special. Netflix’ own Stranger Things is a great example of this. The first season was amazing, the second one really good, while the third one really feels like it’s time to wrap things up.
Another example of a show that ran way too long is Orange is the New Black. Amazing for a couple of seasons and then it just fell apart. IMHO, off course.
@MrHenko absolutely. Stranger Things is the perfect example.
I’ve been using Drafts for a really long time now but every now and then I click/tap something I haven’t clicked/tapped before and I realise I use maybe 10% of the apps capability.
@MrHenko Same here. I’m using it for everything I need, and it’s a LOT, for me at least, and I have the same feeling. Whenever I want to have my mind blown I visit the forum. The stuff that’s discussed there is, most times, way above my needs and, importantly, my skills.
I feel a real shortage of microcasts in my podcast queue at the moment, so I’m glad Manton published a new episode of Timetable this week.
Does anyone have any recommendations of other microcasts?
@MrHenko Favoriting this one to check back later. Was also happy for the new episode of Timetable, and looking forward to the replies…
