Great find at the supermarket today. Perfect start to the year of buying things on plastic discs.
Today I’ve been at home with the kids. It’s been a “study day” at their preschool, which means that the staff have meetings and courses so the kids need to be at home.

Stayed up way too late tonight watching tv. After an episode of Netflix’s Messiah I started watching the Fyre Festival documentary and it was really fascinating. So many tasteless, clueless idiots.

A week or so ago I ordered some electronics stuff that arrived today. Yay! I’ll get back to making the Raspberry Pi music player soon.
As for today it’s been a day of nothing but administrative tasks. The nice part was that I got to work from home which I always try to do at least once a week and it’s a nice change of pace.

and tagged it with Star Wars The Last Jedi I am probably the odd man out here, but when I talk about my problems with the ”culture war” destroying my will to rewatch The Last Jedi, it is mainly not because of Evil Right-Wing-Alt-Right-Nazi-Incel-Hobgoblins, it’s because of their opposite yet still strangely similar counterparts telling me that if I don’t love this movie, it’s probably because I’m a misogynistic racist who hate people who aren’t skinny.
It’s gotta be possible to find a movie okay but not great.

@MrHenko Yeah, I think I see what you mean. I’m of no particular political affiliation, but I guess I’m a bit centrist, with some ideas towards both sides, and some completely my own. I try to get my news from independent sources (if some indeed can be called independent), and otherwise I read with those “ah, of course they’ll say that, being one of them”-eyeglasses. It’s tiresome, but I feel I need to get some information. There’s a lot of good info here on micro blog and the connected blogs too.

and tagged it with Blu-rays Media management Physical media Yes, DVDs and blu-ray still suck but having to say ”no, we can’t watch that movie on this tv because it doesn’t have an AppleTV connected, so let’s go to the other room and watch it there” is worse and there are solutions.
2020 is the year when I start buying plastic discs again.

Today was another day of mostly administrative work. I did have one two-hour lecture on Mastering Music for Streaming Platforms but other than that I was mainly at my desk.
I did manage to complete scheduling and room booking for the next course that I am in charge of, even though it doesn’t happen until April. That made me happy and I now feel that I have many administrative things under control.

@furstenberg Seems more or less like my impression. I definitely need to see Rise of Skywalker again before forming a proper opinion, but I should probably also see The Last Jedi again. I’ve only seen both movies once.
@MrHenko I’ve seen Last Jedi a couple of times. It grew a little on me. Enjoyed it more with director’s commentary though.
@MrHenko So his comments enabled me to understand more of his intentions. I think it was very ambisious. I’m not sure I felt he succeeded. And in that lies some of my issues with the movie I guess.

Today we stayed indoors for the whole day, except for a quick walk that I took in the late afternoon. We’ve done som laundry and general tidying up of stuff and packed for tomorrow, the first proper work and school day of the year for all of us.

At Mall of Scandinavia.
Today we spent some time there after a hotel breakfast and then we headed back home to Sundborn. Overall the trip to Stockholm was nice. Everybody had a good time and it feels good to be back home now.
