I feel a real shortage of microcasts in my podcast queue at the moment, so I’m glad Manton published a new episode of Timetable this week.
Does anyone have any recommendations of other microcasts?

Linn and I finished watching Devs last night and I’m currently listening to The Incomparable’s discussion of it. I need to think about this one and write more but as a whole I thought it was a very interesting premise that failed in the execution. And it was waaaaaaay too long. A two hour movie, or even a Black Mirror episode, would have been enough.

I haven’t used Instagram for a long time but for the last couple of weeks I’ve been trying to convince my fiancé to at least PESOS her Instagram posts to her old, inactive blog. This looks like a way that might be done. Thanks, Jeremy!

* default to the aspect ratio of an included photo, not to square.
* let the Mac app upload videos and sound files.
I agree with this, particularly the first one.

If too many people feel this way, the US will face four more years of Trump. Please, regardless of your feelings for Biden, remember what the alternative is. Hint: It is not four years of whatever your favourite is, unless the favourite is Trump.

@MrHenko inte alls 😜 Jag har inget jag inte skulle kunna göra om plus att jag litar på att Websupport har en fungerande backup. Använde JetPack tjänsten några år men ville bort från WordPress
@MrHenko Plugins. I think the one I use is WP-Backup.
@MrHenko I’m using the daily snapshots of the server (Digital Ocean) as my backup method.
@MrHenko Ah. I doubled checked and it’s an automatic weekly backup. It only costs a dollar / month + storage costs. To setup there’s just a checkbox to enable backups and it’s set it and forget it.
They’ve also got a a guide how to automate it more frequently up at How To Use DigitalOcean Snapshots to Automatically Backup your Droplets.
@MrHenko The one I use is at github.com/matzko/wp… I notice that is has not been tested with the latest version, but it is still working for me.

Jag gillar idén bakom WP och jag har väl nån sorts hatkärlek till programmet. Det som jag tycker är dåligt är
känns inte ”elegant”
är rätt långsamt
buggfixarna verkar inte ta slut
har tappat data många gånger
det som man skickar in i WP är väldigt bökigt att få ut i ett vettigt format (informationen är delvis inlåst)
enskilda personer som jag är inte målgruppen för utvecklingen
jag ogillar den riktning som WP tycks vara på väg mot
WP är rätt värdelös på att hantera foton
idén att lagra inlägg som HTML är enligt min åsikt idiotiskt, speciellt när det gäller länkar till andra inlägg, foton, etc
Det är vad jag kom på just nu. Sedan finns det folk som är jättenöjda med WP och det är ju bra för dem, jag tycker också det bra att det är enkelt & gratis för alla att ska en sajt men jag har personligen lite problem med hela systemet
@MrHenko 😝 jag flydde från loopia till Binero för 11-12 år sedan … och nu har Loopia köpt Binero 😋
Jodå, jag har väl börjat bygga ett system 10 gånger eller så, velat mellan system som Pelican, Drupal (det första systemet som jag använde), Hugo, Blot, osv. Just nu är det en Hugo sajt som jag håller på att bygga. WP är trevligt men ändå inte.

26 juli, 2020 00:24@MrHenko Same here. I’m using it for everything I need, and it’s a LOT, for me at least, and I have the same feeling. Whenever I want to have my mind blown I visit the forum. The stuff that’s discussed there is, most times, way above my needs and, importantly, my skills.
