Yesterday I watched Paul W.S. Anderson’s ”Resident Evil (2002)”. I was not expecting a particularly good movie but what I got was bordering on an art film in its incomprehensibility. Scenes don’t flow naturally into each other. There are no actual characters, no real plot, no clearly established stakes. Nothing. It’s just noise, and not particularly loud or interesting noise either.
Several times during the watched I wonders if I’d gotten hold of an unfinished version or something because of the way certain parts of it are structured.
So why did I do this to myself? Well, it was Darren Mooney’s fault. Hopefully the true revelations of this will come as I movie on to the sequels.
