Yes, this is indeed a new blog. For the past years I’ve been running a combined blog, personal website and company website at henrikcarlsson.se. The blog mixed personal posts with company related posts, web stuff with sound engineering and everything mixed with the occasional release of a song written and recorded by me. Needless to say things have been a bit messy.

Last summer I made a big attempt at clearifying what was what by a site redesign and by making more use of categories in my CMS (WordPress.org). It sort of worked. For the reader it was hopefully clear that different content belonged to different parts of the site, however to me it was still messy. I felt I had problem structuring the things I wanted to write. It was hard to really find an appropriate category for much of the techy stuff. My interest in the site and the old blog has also faded a lot the last six months.

My solution? Start over!

So here we are. A fresh blog with at fresh design. It will from now take over as the place for my mostly tech related musings. My posting will most likely be very sporadic so I highly recommend you subscribe to my RSS-feed or start following my feed twitter account, @synvila_RSS.

If you are a previous reader of my old blog you will also noted that I’ve now chosen a different language. I’m born and raised in Sweden so my native language is Swedish, however in a vain attempt to gain more readers I’ve decided to write this blog in English, hence some poor grammar here and there.

What about the old sites/blogs content?

For now the old site and blog will remain at henrikcarlsson.se, but is will change some time during the summer. The company part will likely be moved to another domain, the music will find it’s own place and this blog will most likely be what ends up on the henrikcarlsson.se frontpage.

What about comments on this blog?

As you’ve probably already seen there is no comments section available on this blog. This might be subject to change but right now it is not a priority to get a lot of short comments. Trackbacks on the other hand will be displayed shortly, so if you want to comment something, feel free to do it from your own blog. If you don’t have a blog, you are also free to e-mail me (address can be found in this pages footer).

Work in progress

This blog, and especially the theme that powers it, is very much a work in progress. This means you as a reader will probably see some minor changes in design and features as the blog grows older. I’ve chosen to do this while the site is live instead of waiting to release it until everything is finished an meticulously tested. I hope it’s more fun this way.

So with that said, I now declare my new blog officially opened.
