A JavaScript application randomizes note order from a list of allowed notes and pipes them to the Web MIDI Api They then enter Ableton Live which routes the MIDI to an E-Mu Proteus/2 that does the actual sound generating. The sound from the Proteus is then treated with delay, reverb and Valhalla Shimmer in Live.
This is very much inspired by the article JavaScript Systems Music and by Eno’s Airports 2/1.

and tagged it with Svensk politik Johnny Olsson har bloggat om nazisternas marsch i Göteborg igår. Som vanligt när han skriver så är det ett bra blogginlägg. Om ni inte redan följer Johnnys blogg så bör ni börja göra det nu.
Och beträffande det där med förberedelser: Vad gör Säpo? Hur kan ett par hundra nazister mobilisera utan att Säpo vet om det? Trots allehanda lagändringar för att underlätta övervakning och luckra upp den personliga integriteten kom det här som en blixt från klar himmel? Har man verkligen inte bättre koll än så på sina potentiella inhemska terrorister?
Det här stycket känns som den viktigaste biten. Det är möjligt att vi i allmänheten är felunderrättade men känslan är onekligen att Säpo lägger alldeles för lite resurser på vit makt-rörelsen.

I’ve never written any generative music but once wrote a piece composed of 5 sections of different lengths that all looped and overlapped giving a varied output. It was 19 minutes but I worked out it could have gone for hours without repeating.

11 oktober, 2017 11:58@colinwalker Thanks! :) But I don’t know if I should really say I wrote something in this case. More like I setup some ground rules and tweaked sound. Anyway, it was great fun to do. Did you read the article that I based my experiment on? What you did sounds a lot like Brian Eno’s technique. Do you have your piece available online for listening?
