Iris, my four year old, has convinced herself lately that she loves Star Wars. A few years ago she got a book called ”When Rey met BB-8” which is a child-appropriate version of the scenes in ”The Force Awakens” where Rey is introduced and where she mets BB-8. The book ends just prior to Unkhar Plot’s goons trying to steal BB-8.

I’ve read that book to her a lot and she knows that I really like Star Wars, so I think that is why she really wants to like it as well. So a few weeks ago, after getting tired of reading that book *every night*, I suggested that we’d try to find a comic book version of the whole film and read that. So we bought that from Comixology and since then, whenever I’m the one reading to her at night, we’ve slowly made our way through ”The Force Awakens*

Tonight we read the lightsaber duel between Rey and Kylo Ren and I asked her if she wanted to see it in the movie, which she did. So we watched that scene on the iPad and at least according to herself, she liked it and thought it was exciting but not scary.

So fingers crossed that she won’t have nightmares tonight and that she still wants to like Star Wars tomorrow.

So I guess this is the single most important piece of tech I own right now. It’s a good thing that it fits in the guitar pick pocket on my jeans.

@Gabz Interesting that you like Cortex and not H.I. I first imagined your dislike of it was related to Grey himself. A friend, whom I got to listen to Cortex, described him as an “alpha geek douchebag” and I think I get how he can come off as that to some people.

Anyway, I’m not here to argue. It’s always interesting to see how peoples taste differs and how to people who both like one thing can have wildly differing opinions about something else that’s still very similar. :)

@manton Thanks for posting this. I hadn’t heard about Inctober before and while I will not be participating, your post made Linea pop back up on my radar. I’m sure I heard about it when it was first released but back then I didn’t have neither an Apple Pencil nor an iPad that supported it.

Now I have both a new iPad Mini and a Pencil, so I’ve been sketching in Linea for fun for quite some time today.

The forty millimeter, aluminum, silver Apple Watch with a Milanese loop does look very good in the pictures. Maybe it might look just as good in my wrist?

Tonight I started playing ”Link’s Awakening” on the Switch. This is one of the games that I didn’t play as a kid, so I have zero nostalgia for it. I think that was why I had a hard time getting into it when I played it in Virtual Console on the 3DS.

It seems like the Switch version will hook me more, but it does to me like a 3DS game than a Switch game. I guess this one will shine more in handheld more than in TV mode.
